We Think Inside the Box- Warm Weather Packaging

Thinking outside of the box can sometimes work for the corporate world (although that can be overrated!), but for packing it's best to think inside the box, especially for perishable items. Perishable items are susceptible to melting, smoldering, and who knows what else!
Below are some tips to consider when packing perishables in the warm weather:
- The lower the freezer temperature the longer products stay cold in transit.
- Ship during the coolest part of the day to help prevent fast thawing.
- Chocolate suffers in transit when it's more than 72 degrees outside. Custom shipping boxes with plastic foam insulation and frozen gel packs are the best packing materials to use for chocolate.
- Avoid packages sitting idle over weekends by shipping early in the week.
- Make sure you keep air space to a minimum and seal tightly.

- Just 27 known copies of the Declaration of Independence are in existence. Television producer Norman Lear owns one of these rare documents.
- A famous United States patriotic song, "Yankee Doodle" was originally sung by British military officers to mock the disorganized American colonists who fought alongside them during the French and Indian Wars.
- General George Washington celebrated July 4th, 1778 by provisioning his soldiers with a double ration of rum and ordering an artillery salute.
