The Post Office (USPS), UPS and FedEx
Postal Connections has many shipping alternatives. We offer you choices and the best options for your shipping needs. Below are some thoughts on three of our most popular shipping carriers, USPS, UPS and FedEx.
 |
USPS:
This is the least expensive option for packages weighing less than two pounds.
First Class Mail: Arrives within 2 to 5 business days in most cases
Priority Mail: Arrives within 2 to 3 business days in most cases
Express Mail: 1 to 2 business days depending on location
In some cases it may take a day or two longer for packages to reach their destination especially in remote areas. USPS does not guarantee the delivery date of your package and the tracking they offer can be somewhat unreliable at times. |
|
|
 |
UPS:
UPS is very reliable and has very reliable tracking as well but may be a little costly on packages under three pounds. Also all packages may be subject to dimensional weight rating which will also increase the shipping cost.
Dimensional weight is calculated based on the length, height, and width of the package. The dimensional weight becomes the billable weight when the dimensional weight of your package exceeds its actual weight.

|
 |
FedEx:
FedEx is well known for their next day delivery and excellent tracking service. However just as with UPS, packages may be subject to dimensional weight rating which will drive the shipping cost up.
You can count on your Postal Connections store to figure out which one carrier is best for you and to make sure your package arrives at its destination safe and on time. We can specially package your items and we stand behind the value of the contents if any damage occurs. We can easily calculate the weight and dimensional cost for shipping your item as well as add value coverage and we can track you package.
Note: FedEx has increased their shipping rates in FedEx Express, Ground, Home Delivery and Freight by 4.9% for 2015. UPS has also increased their rates by 4.9%. USPS has no planned rate increase in 2015 however there may be a rate adjustment later in the year.

What is the Ides of March?

The Death of Caesar (1798) by Vincenzo Camuccini | Pic from Wikipedia.org
The Ides of March (March 15th) has been infamous throughout time but it is probably best known for the day in 44 BC when Junius Brutus stabbed Julius Caesar to death.
The Ides was originally the 13th in the calendar months of 29 days and the 15th in the months with 31 calendar days.
(Fun fact: If you make a fist of both your hands, put them side by side and name the months starting from either end, each month with 31 days falls on a knuckle and the others on the spaces between the knuckles. In case you forget the number of days in each month!)
A Fact or Three about Spring
- In the Northern Hemisphere the Earth's axis tilts toward the sun in the spring which creates more daylight.
- Dandelions, daffodils, lilies, tulips, iris and lilacs are some of the first flowers to bloom in spring.
- Spring fever exists! Studies suggest that body makeup alters a bit in the Spring due to different diets, temperature changes and hormone production

Spring Quotes
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. |

Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!' |
 |
Robin Williams |
Every St. Patrick's Day every Irishman goes out to find another Irishman to make a speech to. |

In the Spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours. |
 |
Mark Twain |
Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter. |
