This year, Mardi Gras is February 17th. However, the Carnival season, as it is called in New Orleans, begins on Jan. 6, King's Day (Feast of the Epiphany) The revelry of Mardi Gras, is kind of a last hurrah before Lent which begins on Ash Wednesday.
